In these unforeseen situation where the whole world is fighting a war against corona virus still there are these two lakh students who have or haven’t completed their board exams. Though the situation remains uncertain about the further conduction of exams and the results, even the starting of the schools is a big question mark, yet these students are searching……they are looking for the further streams they would’ve to select, the streams that may decide their future, their family’s future and here in India most importantly their (so-called) identity in the society.
And I am not talking about these descriptions given by people over the job they acquire or the marks they get. Those are inevitable situation one is likely to face. Here, I am talking about the judgment people may pass on the choice of one’s stream.
It has been fixed in our minds since olden times that the one who gets good marks, studies well and has the capability to do something remarkable in the near future has to be from the Science stream.
People have trained their minds that Commerce students ought to be low scorers, naughty in their mannerisms and they have nothing to do. They are meant to have chosen an easy path and may succeed very easily.
But do you feel that if this would have been the truth, CA would not have been termed as a crucial degree to achieve. I totally agree that there is less content wise study in here, but it is observed that a commerce aspirant needs to smell the interest of the person he is dealing with.
What I believe is that just because of growing popularity and the apparent respect towards the BIG AND DIGNIFIED EXAMS like IIT-JEE or NEET; people have started believing that success has only these names.
I have seen people changing and diverting their paths towards these streams just because they were good in their elementary education and fear losing the respect in other people’s eyes.
In the current situation there is often seen that a person scoring top marks takes Commerce stream and do wonders. I am not against the Science aspirants nor do I believe it’s an easy task to study it, its thumping hard. But just because it’s hard doesn’t mean it is applicable to yield good results. For that case no stream is, it’s the person’s inner qualities that if go hand-in-hand with the stream they choose can do wonders.
The question is: WHY SHOULD WE NOT FOLLOW OUR INTEREST, JUST BECAUSE “SHARMA JI KE LADKE NE TOH ‘YEH’ KIYA HAI”?
Or is it because: “YEH PADHAI MEIN KAMZOR HAI ISLIYE YEH TOH COMMERCE HE LEGA” or “YEH TOH PADHAI MEIN BOHOT ACCHA HAI TOH PUKKA SCIENCE HE LEGA”
What I don’t understand is that why a person may let others to choose his or her path of success when the success is his/her. My clear thought is do not divert yourself into something because all others of your caliber are going towards it.
OUR ASPIRATIONS ARE OUR CHOICE. If you let them be influenced by others’ choices the success doesn’t remains all yours, and it’s damn good to have your own success than to share it.
“SCIENCE students learn the facts and apply them but, COMMERCE students learn the applied facts and re-interpret them through life experiences.”
It’s you who have the right to success and it’s still you who need to decide if you want it to remain yours or share it with the people around you.
